Back Teeth implants

When it comes to chewing and breaking down food, the back teeth (molars and premolars) are your main workhorses. Missing back teeth can make it difficult to eat, and over time, can lead to more complex issues such as tooth misalignment, jaw pain, and even bone loss. At Best Laser Dental Clinic, we offer state-of-the-art back teeth implants to restore both the functionality and aesthetics of your smile, providing a long-lasting, comfortable solution. Back teeth implants are designed to replace the root of a missing tooth, creating a foundation for a custom-made crown or bridge that mimics your natural teeth. These implants not only restore your ability to chew but also help maintain the integrity of your jawbone, preventing further damage and decay.

What Are Back Teeth Implants?

Back teeth implants are titanium posts ( TITANIUM ROOTS ) that are surgically placed into your jawbone to replace missing molars or premolars. They provide a strong and permanent foundation for prosthetic teeth, ensuring that your chewing function is fully restored.

The process involves three main components

  1. The Implant Post (Root): A small titanium screw inserted into the jawbone, acting as an artificial tooth root. Titanium is used because of its exceptional ability to fuse with bone through a process known as osseointegration.
  2. The Abutment: A connector piece that attaches the implant post to the replacement tooth (crown or bridge).
  3. The Crown or Bridge: A custom-made prosthetic tooth that matches the appearance and function of your natural teeth. Crowns are typically used for single tooth replacements, while bridges are used when multiple teeth need to be replaced.

Back teeth implants are specifically designed to withstand the intense forces exerted during chewing. They also help to preserve your jawbone by stimulating it as natural tooth roots would, preventing bone deterioration that often accompanies tooth loss.

Why You Should Consider Back Teeth Implants

  • Restore Functionality – Regain your ability to chew properly, including hard foods that require molar strength.
  • Prevent Bone Loss – Implants stimulate the jawbone, preventing bone resorption that often follows tooth loss .
  • Maintain Facial Structure – Implants help preserve the bone structure in your face, avoiding sagging or a collapsed appearance.
  • Permanent Solution – Unlike dentures or bridges, dental implants are a long-term solution with proper care.
  • No Need for Adjacent Teeth Support – Implants do not require altering nearby healthy teeth, unlike traditional bridges.

  • “In some situations, a titanium bar may be given to connect the implants for rigid support increasing the implant success rates.”
  • Internationally Trusted – We provide affordable solutions that are on par with international standards, offering patients from around the world the best in dental care.

HOW MANY IMPLANTS WILL BE NEEDED FOR REPLACING BACK TEETH (MOLARS)?

  • For replacing single molar – single implant is sufficient
  • For replacing two molars – 2 implants are needed
  • For replacing three molars (premolar and molar) – 2 or 3 implants may be needed.

Delayed loading and immediate loading?

1. Immediate Loading Implants

Definition:
Prosthetic restoration (usually temporary) is attached to the implant within 48 to 72 hours after implant placement.

Advantages:

  • Faster treatment (function and esthetics restored quickly)
  • Fewer surgeries and appointments
  • Improved patient satisfaction
  • Maintains soft tissue contours and helps preserve aesthetics

Ideal Candidates:

  • Healthy patients with adequate bone volume and density
  • Sufficient implant stability at placement

2. Delayed Loading Implants

Definition:
Implants are left unloaded for a healing period (typically 3–6 months) before the prosthetic is attached. This allows for osseointegration (bone fusing with the implant).

Advantages:

  • More predictable
  • Allows for healing of soft tissue and bone
  • Recommended in cases of poor bone quality or grafting

Risks/Considerations:

  • Requires multiple appointments
  • Longer treatment time
  • Patient remains edentulous till crown fixed

Ideal Candidates:

  • Patients with compromised bone or systemic health issues
  • Areas where esthetic outcomes are not immediately necessary (molars)

The exact number of implants needed and the treatment plan will be decided after taking 3d cbct scan.
