How to prevent tooth decay:
Tooth decay is an irreversible disease that affects the tooth causing tooth sensitivity, tooth pain which will leads to tooth shaking and tooth loss. It can be prevented and treated by proper oral health care and maintenance.
10 Steps to prevent tooth decay:
- Brush twice a day, night brushing is mandatory to avoid tooth decay
- Use medium bristled toothbrush, avoid extra soft and hard bristled tooth brush
- Brushing method: Keep your tooth brush 45 degree angle to gum surface and give gentle back and forth strokes
- Brush 2 -3 minutes, avoid brushing more than 3 minutes
- Use floss to clean deposits in between teeth surface
- Rinse mouth with water after every food
- Avoid frequent snacking and sticky foods like chips and biscuits
- Take calcium rich foods and green leafy vegetables
- Drink at least 2 litres of water per day
- Visit dentist for checkup once in 6 months or once in a year
