Transforming Smiles: Replacing Failed Metal Ceramic Bridges and Root Canal Treatment with Full Mouth Dental Implant

Overview:

Some patients face challenges when traditional treatments like metal-ceramic bridges or root canal therapy fails. A patient visited our clinic complaining of severe pain and difficulty eating. Due to their history of decay, patient has extracted many teeth and done Root canal and bridging for almost all the remaining teeth.After a through clinical examination and CBCT evaluation, he was advised to replace the failed dental bridge to implants.

Treatment Plan:

– Removal of the failed metal ceramic bridge & Extraction of all compromised teeth.

– Dental Implants: Placement of high-quality dental implants to support fixed teeth.

– Titanium Bar- Fixing of titanium bar over the implants for better stability and healing of the implants

– Provisional Fixed Teeth: Provided on the 3rd day following the dental implant procedure.

Procedure Details:

Day 1-  Implant Placement:

6 SMU implants in upper arch and 8 single piece implants were placed in lower jaw

Day 2- Titanium Bar-

On the 2nd day Titanium bar was fixed over the implants with titanium screws

Day 3-  Provisional Teeth in soft cement

Temporary teeth sets are fixed  on the 3rd day post-implantation with soft cement

Day 5- Provisional Teeth fixed with strong cement

      The same temporary teeth set is fixed with strong cement on the 5^th day

The results were trans-formative for the patient.
